End-to-End Service – A Coordinated Package

01/ Site Survey

A site survey is carried out to confirm structural openings, finished floor levels and fixing conditions. All relevant dimensional data is recorded for coordination and manufacture.

02/ Design & Engineering

The staircase is designed and engineered to comply with dimensional, structural and regulatory requirements. Fully detailed production drawings are issued for approval.

03/ Manufacture & Quality Control

All components are manufactured in‑house and assembled in our workshop. Dimensional and fit checks are completed throughout production.

04/ Finishing

All finishes are agreed in advance and applied in our workshop prior to delivery. Components are supplied to site fully finished, ready for installation.

05/ Transport

Staircase elements are securely loaded onto pallets for dedicated transport. This allows us to limit packaging and waste. Delivery is coordinated to align with site access and programme sequencing.

06/ Installation

Installation is carried out by Smet staircases’ own installation team. Pre‑assembled elements are used where possible to reduce on‑site adjustment and installation time

07/ French Polishing

Following installation and completion of all works, a specialist polisher attends site to address snags, touch‑ups and local repairs to finished surfaces. This ensures a perfect finished staircase before handover.

Building Safety Regulator (BSR)

Compliance with building regulations is treated as part of the package, not an afterthought. For High-Rise buildings in particular, we can provide a comprehensive BSR package that includes: 

  • Staircase information prepared fully in line with BSR requirements
  • Full compliance documentation demonstrating alignment with Part K
  • Detailed engineering report
  • BSR reports issued and reviewed before production begins  

By addressing compliance early and thoroughly, we reduce late-stage queries and avoid compliance-related delays on site.
